‘Rowdy City Wrestling’ is ‘Rowdy Wrestling’ with a Story-Driven Campaign, Coming September 17th

Gambar
Developer Colin Lane LOVES wrestling. And golf. But mostly wrestling. And not just any wrestling but wacky physics-based wrestling in particular. Back in 2015 Lane and company’s Wrassling (Free) had us in stitches with its… nonconventional take on pro wrestling, and the game went on to be something of an underground hit. A few years later a spiritual successor called Rowdy Wrestling (Free) took a less abstract approach to a pro wrestling game by adding in more traditional elements like steel chairs (well, traditional for pro wrestling that is) as well as an expanded set of moves and abilities. Also wacky costumes. Rowdy Wrestling also proved to be a hit, but it was also a rather simplistic affair where you’re simply fighting one match after another. What if you wanted some Rowdy Wrestling but with… MORE. That, my friends, is what Rowdy City Wrestling is all about. Here is Colin Lane’s own description: “ Rowdy City Wrestling is an arcade wrestling game where you take a fighte...

SwitchArcade Round-Up: Mini-Views Featuring ‘Witcheye’ and More, Today’s New Releases, and the Latest Sales

Gambar
Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for August 31st, 2020. In today’s edition, we’ve got a handful of Mini-Views to check out. The games in the hot-seat today are Witcheye, Windbound , and Tank Mechanic Simulator . Spoilers: your wallet is probably safe. The next batch of reviews will not offer such mercy. There are also a couple of new releases to check out, and a rather beefy list of new sales to look at. Let’s get to the goods! Mini-Views Witcheye ($4.99) Witcheye has an interesting control scheme whether you play with buttons or touch controls. You’re controlling an eyeball that will keep moving in whatever direction you flick or push until you redirect it or tell it to stop. You have to go through a variety of stages and battle some enemies and bosses. Well, you don’t have to battle most enemies as avoiding them is just fine. Getting all of the goodies will require you to take out your foes, however, and that requires more careful play. I can’t say ...

Mario Kart Tour , Free Mario Kart Tour keeps on rolling out the events, with the latest being the Summer Festival Tour that takes you through a new Tokyo course, Tokyo Blur 3. I mean, it’s a slightly re-arranged version of the old Tokyo course, but we take what we can get around here. If you’re very lucky, you can get a special version of Daisy wearing a nice summer yukata . She’s all dressed...

Magical Adventure RPG ‘Genshin Impact’ Reveals Cross Platform Progression and Play Support Details for iOS, Android, PS4, and PC

Gambar
Genshin Impact from miHoYo has been in the works for a while now for multiple platforms. While Genshin Impact is inspired by Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as you can see from the footage below, it does a lot of unique things when it comes to combat and it also has multiple varied worlds that look pretty unique so far. The game includes both singleplayer and multiplayer including cross platform support. Over the weekend, miHoYo revealed the release date for the PS4 version of Genshin Impact and began pre-orders on the PS Store. The company also confirmed how PS4 players can play alongside mobile and PC players. Sadly, cross progression will not be available between PS4 and other platforms. Data transfer is only possible between iOS, Android, and PC as of now. Co-op play and multiplayer will work across all platforms though. Watch a new behind the scenes video for Genshin Impact below: It is pretty disappointing that the PS4 version will not be able to transf...

TouchArcade Game of the Week: ‘Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale’

Gambar
Ah sequels. They are such a good idea in theory, but so often they’re hit or miss. Do you play it safe and stick closely to what people enjoyed about the original game but risk being too similar of an experience? Or do you go in a totally different direction in an effort to explore the series from a different angle, but risk alienating those who loved the first game by being TOO different? For me, the answer is somewhere in the middle. A good sequel should build on the foundation of the game that came before it while expanding it in new ways and exploring different ideas that will ultimately offer a brand new experience while still feeling familiar to fans of the original. A tall order to be sure, bu that is the exact chord that developer Slothwerks has struck with Meteorfall: Krumit’s Tale ($6.99) , the follow-up to their hit 2018 card-based dungeon crawler Meteorfall: Journey ($0.99) . What made the original Meteorfall so brilliant was its simplicity. You played against a deck of...

Apple Follows Through and Nukes Epic’s Entire Developer Account, Even Previous Purchases Like ‘Infinity Blade’ Are No Longer Available to Re-Download

Gambar
After Epic Games updated Fortnite on iOS to offer in-game currency directly through Epic at a discounted rate, thus skirting Apple’s official in-app purchase system and violating the terms of the App Store, Apple yanked Fortnite down from sale and ever since an “epic" battle between the two tech giants has ensued. Epic’s argument is that Apple’s “walled garden" approach to software on the iOS platform creates a monopoly where other companies can’t compete like they can on more open platforms, like Android or just personal computers in general. They blatantly broke the App Store’s rules with Fortnite as a form of protest and fully expected the game to be taken down, but a few days later Apple clapped back by threatening to not just continue keeping Fortnite off the App Store but actually terminating all of Epic’s developer agreements and removing their access to iOS and Mac tools, thus potentially putting any game that uses Epic’s popular Unreal Engine in harm’s way. Ep...

Gambar
Hello gentle readers, and welcome to another very big edition of the SwitchArcade Round-Up. As is typically the case on Fridays, there are a lot of new sales to check out. There’s also an abnormally large number of new releases, and we’ve got summaries for each one of them. For whatever reason, I also decided to pack a few news stories in here, too. Well, don’t say I didn’t give you anything good to read while you take care of business. Let’s go! News ‘LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’ Delayed to Early 2021 Originally intended for release later this year, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been delayed to early 2021. But hey, it’s not all bad. We did get a trailer showing us some gameplay from the upcoming release, which aims to cover all nine episodes of the Skywalker Saga of Star Wars . It… it sure looks like a LEGO Star Wars game, doesn’t it? Glad we got that video so we know what to expect. Anyway, soak up that trailer and make a mental note of the new release window. ...
