Pascal’s Wager ($3.99) from Tipsworks recently got a pretty big update bringing in a new boss fight for the DLC and some changes to skills. The game has been improving since launch with new content, paid DLC, and updates on both iOS and Android. It even got a new game plus mode in an update . The soulslike got its first paid DLC in the form of the ‘Deep into the Dark Mist’ DLC which arrived alongside the big 1.2.0 update as well after. Last week , Tipsworks revealed The Tides of Oblivion DLC’s first trailer. Today, the company has confirmed the release date for iOS and Android in a new trailer. Back in October last year, Hidden Layer Games and Chucklefish launched INMOST () on Apple Arcade. Chucklefish publishes excellent games on all platforms and I was glad to see them be a part of Apple Arcade with INMOST Which is a story driven platformer with great visuals and music. Hidden Layer Games was supposed to bring it to Nintendo Switch and PC soon after the Apple Arcade release. This year has been difficult for almost everyone in some way and it has delayed INMOST on other platforms and the development in general. Each and every day new mobile games are hitting the App Store, and so each week we put together a big old list of all the best new releases of the past seven days. Back in the day the App Store would showcase the same games for a week, and then refresh those features each Thursday. Because of that developers got into the habit of releasing their games throughout Wednesday or very early Thursday in order to hopefully get one of those coveted features spots. Nowadays the App Store refreshes constantly, so the need for everyone to release all on the same day has diminished. Earlier this month we told you about a cool looking upcoming game called Gun Rounds from developer Blabberf that looked to answer the question of “What if Downwell was turn-based?" Well, that’s not totally true, as by nature Downwell is a frantic shooter that probably wouldn’t work too well turn-based. However, many of the main traits of Downwell were inspirations for Gun Rounds , like how there are multiple different worlds with different enemies in each, or how you can come across a shopkeeper offering 3 different upgrades for you to buy. Also, the visual style and music are homages to Downwell’s cool pixel art and limited color palette. The actual meat of the game though is the turn-based shootouts, and not falling down a well and blasting everything in sight as in Downwell . Idle games. No, they’re not for everyone, but at the same time they’re a perfect type of game for mobile devices. Sometimes you want to get geared up for a major gaming session, focusing your mind and spirit entirely on whatever game is at hand. But sometimes you just want to hop into a game and watch progress bars go up without having to think about it too hard. This is where idle games shine. Not to say that there isn’t any thought or strategy involved in playing an idle game, but in general it’s a much less taxing experience that can easily fit into just those few moments of free time throughout your day and still bring a sense of joy and accomplishment.
