Netflix Planning To Have More TV Than You'll Ever Watch By The End Of 2018

In case it wasn't already painfully obvious, Netflix is working really hard to be the only thing people watch for their entertainment. With every passing week, the service is adding original TV shows and movies, continuing to build their library--and they're not slowing down anytime soon.

According to Variety, the streamer will have a total of roughly 700 original TV shows by the end of 2018--80 of which will be non-English programming. That figure doesn't include movies. Netflix previously announced they'd be spending nearly $8 billion on content in 2018, so they're definitely not hurting for money when it comes to making shows.

The month of March is a perfect example is Netflix's content strategy. In addition to new episodes of The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale and My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman, 52 new originals will debut on the streaming platform--32 of which are TV shows--next month. Of them all, chances are the second seasons of Marvel's Jessica Jones and Santa Clarita Diet are the only ones the general public is aware of.

There will also be plenty of movies coming this year, with Netflix planning to release 80 original films in 2018. Thus far, the streamer has released big name titles like Bright, The Cloverfield Paradox, and Mute to a less-than-stellar critical reception. It has also released the first trailer for Adam Sandler's The Week Of, which debuts in April.
