‘Pokemon GO’ Is Getting New Reality Blending AR Functionality and PokeStop Scanning on Specific Phone Models

Pokemon GO (Free) from Niantic has been improving just like other games by letting people play and enjoy the game more from home. This functionality was elevated by the Remote Raid Pass that was also introduced. Earlier today, Niantic revealed a new Reality Blending feature coming to the AR aspect of Pokemon GO. PokeStop Scanning is also set to arrive for specific phone models to help Niantic continue to improve and refine the AR functionality. Reality Blending will ensure that Pokemon can move behind objects partially or completely for a more immersive AR experience.

Niantic has announced Reality Blending for Samsung Galaxy S10, S9, Google Pixel 3, and Google Pixel 4 as of now. It will roll out to more devices after that. PokeStop Scanning will be available to level 40 trainers next month before it rolls out to more players. This will let trainers upload videos of a real life PokeStop if you opt in. The videos will be a maximum of 30 seconds long and from different angles to help Niantic generate dynamic 3D maps of PokeStop locations. Head over to our forum thread for more discussion around Pokémon GO. Have you been playing Pokemon GO daily and what do you think of the recent changes?
