Nintendo Launches User Reviews, But Removes Them Right Away And Doesn't Explain Why

Recently, Nintendo quietly added functionality to its website that allowed users to submit game reviews, but it didn't take long before Nintendo reversed course. A message on Nintendo's website now explains that "customer reviews" have been removed from all pages as the company "evaluate[s] this feature and its functionality." Nintendo went on thank fans for their feedback about the feature, including those who "provided such thoughtful commentary on the games." However, Nintendo said it has no estimate as of yet for when it might provide an update on user reviews, let alone bring them back. The user review system for Nintendo games was brought to light by Reddit user phantomliger . Before the feature was pulled, it allowed verified users to rate a game out of five stars. When you clicked the "Review This Game" button, the system apparently did a check on your account, only allowing you to review the game if you'd played for at lea

Netflix Planning To Have More TV Than You'll Ever Watch By The End Of 2018

In case it wasn't already painfully obvious , Netflix is working really hard to be the only thing people watch for their entertainment. With every passing week, the service is adding original TV shows and movies, continuing to build their library--and they're not slowing down anytime soon. According to Variety , the streamer will have a total of roughly 700 original TV shows by the end of 2018--80 of which will be non-English programming. That figure doesn't include movies. Netflix previously announced they'd be spending nearly $8 billion on content in 2018, so they're definitely not hurting for money when it comes to making shows. The month of March is a perfect example is Netflix's content strategy. In addition to new episodes of The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale and My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman , 52 new originals will debut on the streaming platform--32 of which are TV shows--next month. Of them all, chances are the second

Horizon Zero Dawn Sells 7.6 Million Copies, Setting New PS4 Record

Horizon Zero Dawn has now sold an astonishing 7.6 million copies worldwide following its launch a year ago today. Sales at that level make the RPG from the creators of Killzone the "most successful new first-party franchise launch on PS4 " to date, Sony said. "We had huge ambition for Horizon Zero Dawn and as we approached the launch we knew people were excited, but to see sales of this volume is truly mind blowing," Guerrilla Games boss Hermen Hulst said in a statement. Horizon Zero Dawn was released on February 28, 2017, so it's now exactly one year old. The RPG sold 2.6 million units sold in its first two weeks and 3.4 million as of June 2017 . Of those, 915,000 were digital, but no new update on the physical/digital mix was provided today. To celebrate the milestone, Guerrilla is giving away Horizon Zero Dawn-thened PS4 avatars for characters from the game, including Aloy. A PS4 theme featuring fan-made Photo Mode shots will also be available for free;

'Lichtspeer' Review - A Tough Trip

Gambar
Are you ready to get down with the spear god in Lichtspeer [ $3.99 ]? Noodlecake helped port Lichthund's spear-tossing action game to iOS, where it finally belongs. I mean, we've been training for this kind of game for years with all the physics puzzlers about launching stuff out there. I'm ready and primed for this. Which is good, because this game is quite challenging, but it feels so good to take out hundreds of dudes with a light spear in a uniquely-themed world. You stand alone, launching spears at hordes of enemies that just keep coming, facing off in the occasional boss battle. Expect to leave plenty of bloody, spear-ridden corpses in your wake. Lichtspeer 's theme is a unique combination of 1980s lasers and neon with...Germanic themes? You're summoned by an ancient Germanic god to launch your spear of light at endless hordes of enemies across landscapes including desert temples for his amusement. The game is incredibly ridiculous, and the faux-German text

Nintendo Switch Version Of Fable Creator's Adventure Game Coming Soon

Remember Peter Molyneux, the creator of the Fable series and the head of the studio that launched Curiosity: What's Inside the Cube? He's still around, and his studio, 22Cans, recently announced a Nintendo Switch port of its latest game. The Trail: Frontier Challenge originally launched on mobile devices, and it was ported to PC last year. Now, it's coming to Nintendo's console, the first Switch title developed by 22Cans. "The Trail is a perfect debut Switch title for us; it's family-friendly and easy to put down and pick back up again," publisher Kongregate stated in a press release. In The Trail, you take control of a traveler who embarks on a journey. Gameplay focuses on crafting, survival, and living the frontier life. Once you reach the final destination, you can also choose a profession and build a home as part of a town. Its style is particularly striking, too, with minimalist, polygonal art. The Trail is out right now in Europe on Nintendo

A new Men in Black spinoff is on the way, and now a new report claims that Thor actor Chris Hemsworth could play one of the lead roles. According to The Hollywood Reporter , Hemsworth is in "early negotiations" to star in the action-comedy from Sony Pictures. Fate of the Furious and Straight Outta Compton director F. Gary Gray will direct the untitled new Men in Black film, which is due to hit theatres in June 2019. The movie is being written by Matt Holloway and Art Marcus ( Iron Man ). According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new Men in Black film will be similar to Jurassic World in that it will feature a familiar world but new characters. In the original Men in Black films, which have collectively grossed $1.5 billion worldwide, Agents J and K were played by Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, respectively. "Sources say that the studio is hoping to round out a diverse ensemble cast and may be potentially eyeing the leads to be white male, a female of color, and an

Watch Us Play Overwatch's New Hero, Brigitte

After weeks of cryptic teases , Blizzard has finally unveiled the newest character for Overwatch , and as many have speculated, it's Brigitte . Torbjörn's daughter marks the 27th character to join the roster, and she comes with a few unique tricks to help set her apart from the other support heroes in the game. Blizzard describes Brigitte as "an engineer with peerless armor-constructing abilities," and those characteristics shine through in her abilities on the battlefield. Her primary weapon is the Rocket Flail, which has an extended range and can smash multiple opponents at once. In addition to that, she brandishes a Barrier Shield, which can protect any teammates directly behind her. She can also toss Repair Packs to heal teammates, while her passive ability, Inspire, heals nearby allies over time when she lands blows on enemies. These skills combine to make Brigitte a rather unique addition to the Overwatch roster, acting like a mixture of Reinhardt and her fath

Whether You Like It Or Not, A New Adam Sandler Movie Is Coming Soon

No matter what you think of films, Adam Sandler is a hit machine in terms of numbers and widespread appeal. So it was a big deal when Netflix signed Sandler for a four-movie deal back in 2014, bypassing theatrical releases for the digital streamer. Netflix doubled down on that deal last year, signing Sandler for a further four films. The latest of these, The Week Of , is coming April, and now a new trailer for the comedy has arrived. In The Week Of, Sandler plays a middle class father who wants to pay for his daughter's wedding. Opposite him is the father of the groom (Chris Rock), who is wealthy and eager to foot the bill for a wedding that doesn't take place in a run-down hotel. A bunch of unfortunate things happen, leading the two men and their families to live together under the same roof for "the longest week of their lives" leading up to the wedding. The Week Of debuts on Netflix on April 27. It also stars Rachel Dratch and Steve Buscemi (and a giant Toberl

Full House Creator Fired In Wake Of Inappropriate Behavior Allegations

Jeff Franklin, the TV veteran who created Full House , and its more recent revival Fuller House , has been fired from the new show in the wake of claims about inappropriate behavior. Variety reports today that Warner Bros. TV, which produces Fuller House, said it will not renew its deal with Franklin. He also serves as the program's showrunner. Multiple sources told Variety that Warner Bros. TV received "complaints about Franklin's behavior in the writers' room and on the set of the series." Franklin, 63, was accused of being "verbally abusive to staffers," including making "sexually charged comments" about his own relationships and sex life. The report goes on to say that Franklin has not been accused of direct sexual harassment or inappropriate physical behavior with anyone who works on Fuller House , though he stands accused of bringing his personal romantic interests to the set and then giving them small parts in the show. 'Part Time UFO' Review - It Works Hard for Its Money

Gambar
For many years, mobile gamers dreamed the impossible dream of having Nintendo games on their platform of choice. When that dream finally, improbably, came true, it didn't come in the form that many of those players had hoped for. There are a lot of factors to consider when thinking about why Nintendo's mobile efforts are what they are, but regardless of the why, the fact remains that they're not quite the same as what the company puts out on its own hardware. Well, HAL Laboratory isn't Nintendo, but they're quite close in a lot of ways. If you were one of those people looking for a Nintendo-like experience on your mobile device, you may find that HAL's latest release, Part Time UFO [ $3.99 ], scratches the itch nicely. HAL Laboratory did have a life before Nintendo, primarily making games for computers such as the Commodore VIC-20 and the MSX. But it's best known for its work that came out of its partnership with the console giant. Games like Kirby's D

Destiny 2 Adds Nightfall Strike Scoring And Challenge Cards In Latest Update

Destiny 2 has released its 1.1.3 update, making changes to the PS4 , Xbox One , and PC game's Nightfall Strikes. There is also a host of other changes, like tweaks to The Colony Exotic Grenade Launcher and the addition of a text chat feature on PC, to improve overall gameplay. The biggest change in this latest update is that both normal and Prestige Nightfall Strikes will now have scoring, adding an extra competitive edge to them. You gain points by killing enemies and generating orbs, with the highest set of scores being displayed on each Nightfall's emblem. Scores above a certain value will enable the Nightfall Aura and grant a fireteam Vanguard Token bonus. You'll be able to see your team's score at the end of each Nightfall. There are now Challenge Cards available for Prestige Nightfall Strikes. These cards allow you to select modifiers for the Prestige Nightfall that affect gameplay and the score. Players have the power to boost outgoing and incoming damage, or

7 Times The Walking Dead Foreshadowed Season 8's Big Death

Gambar
The Walking Dead Season 8 spoilers below The Walking Dead has a long history of foreshadowing its big events. From twists and deaths to symbolism and metaphor, its producers and writers love to hint at what's to come--sometimes subtly, sometimes a lot less so. So how did the show foreshadow Carl's death in Season 8? While viewers had to wait months to find out which major characters were leaving the show at the start of Season 7, Carl's death was played differently. We've known since December that Chandler Riggs has been written out, giving us time to look back over the past eight episodes to see what signs and hints were left about Carl's death. And in true Walking Dead style, there were a few. Let's take a look. 7. Opening walk Season 8 starts with an exact, almost shot-for-shot recreation of the opening of the very first episode, but this time it's Carl instead of Rick looking for gas in a field of abandoned cars. At the time, this just seemed to

22. GoBots There's no way around it: GoBots are subpar versions of Transformers. What's strange, though, is that GoBots technically came first. The first GoBots toys were in stores in 1983, a year before Transformers. The GoBots movie even beat the Transformers movie to theaters. (Image: Hanna-Barbera) 21. Mechani-Kong The 1968 film King Kong Escapes pits the titular ape against his robotic duplicate. It's a fight every monster movie fan should see. Unfortunately, Mechani-Kong wouldn't leave the same impression as Mechagodzilla did a few years later. (Image: Universal Studios) 20. Robo Jason Sudeikis It's unclear exactly what this robot's name is, but the bot controlled by Jason Sudeikis in Colossal is both terrifying and fascinating. It's impressive to have such great character design in a movie where monsters play second fiddle to a character story happening elsewhere. (Image: Neon) 19. 'Scalak' is the Hypnotic New Puzzler from the Creator of 'Zenge' and 'Art Of Gravity'

Gambar
Michal Pawlowski of Hamster On Coke Game Lab, developer of such lovely puzzle experiences as Zenge [ $0.99 ] and Art Of Gravity [ $0.99 ] and co-developer of the oddly satisfying button-pushing puzzler PUSH [ $0.99 ], has announced his new project called Scalak and is currently looking for some more beta test participants in our forums . Like his previous work, Scalak utilizes simple game mechanics but layers them together to create an increasingly deeper experience, and of course it's all wrapped up in really striking visuals and sounds. In this case the mechanics revolve around placing shapes into gaps on cube-based objects, rotating the object and even combining multiple pieces to find the right place for everything. I'm bad at explaining it but it's pretty clear how Scalak works in the following trailer. Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel What I love about Hamster On Coke Game Lab (besides the deliciously absurd name) is that they're putting out g

Everything We Want in Black Panther's Sequel

There's a long road of movies to get through-- Avengers Infinity War , Ant-Man and the Wasp , Captain Marvel , and more--before a Black Panther sequel arrives, but after the box office and critical reception the Marvel Cinematic Universe film has received, a sequel has to be practically guaranteed. What would it entail, though? With such a long comic book history for the Black Panther, there are endless possibilities. Beyond that, the movie itself--and the future of the MCU--left so many options for a sequel to tackle. The GameSpot team has a few ideas that definitely need to happen, though. First and foremost, director Ryan Coogler needs to return to direct the sequel. There's no denying that without Coogler, this movie wouldn't be anywhere near the same, and he needs to be the driving creative force behind whatever comes next. As for the story, there are a number of things that should unfold in Black Panther 2 . Shuri (Letitia Wright), for instance, needs a much bi

Fortnite: Battle Royale's Jetpacks Delayed, New Gun Coming First

Fortnite developer Epic has been regularly introducing new weapons to the game's free-to-play Battle Royale mode on PS4 , Xbox One , and PC , with the most recent being the powerful Hand Cannon . Among the other new items on the way to the game are jetpacks , but it appears players will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on one. PC Gamer has reported that jetpacks have been delayed, with a new gun set to debut in their place. According to Epic, jetpacks were originally slated to roll out this week in Fortnite: Battle Royale, but they have now been pushed back due to a "last minute design issue" that the developer discovered. Epic hasn't announced a new time frame for when the jetpacks will arrive in Battle Royale, but this week's new item will now be the Hunting Rifle. Aside from the news of their delay, Epic hasn't shared many details about the jetpacks. The items were first mentioned in Fortnite's New Updates section as "coming soon

Sci-Fi Movies And TV Shows That Correctly Predicted Technology

Gambar
Movies and TV shows often miss their mark when it comes to predicting the future. We still don't have flying cars or time traveling devices, for instance. Having said that, there are several visionary films like Minority Report and 2001: A Space Odyssey that have managed to predict some aspects of technological innovation correctly. You could assert that many of these revolutionary films and TV shows had a direct influence in turning science fiction into science fact. Regardless, from predicting VR to self-driving cars, here are movies and TV shows that were ahead of their time. We've ordered them chronologically in the following gallery. 1. Space Travel - A Trip to the Moon (1902) Not only did writer and director Georges Méliès depict us traveling into space all the way back in 1902, but his black and white film showcased humans traveling to the moon . In the silent short, explorers get blasted into space via a cannon-propelled capsule and return to Earth by dropping i
