NetEase’s ‘LifeAfter’ Hits the App Store

Gambar
For some reason, I recently decided to get back into watching the TV show Walking Dead which has kicked off an entire bender of consuming other zombie-related content. (Like, did you know 28 Days Later has a sequel? Apparently I missed the bus on that one.) So, in my life, I’ve got a zombie TV show, more zombie movies than I could ever watch in one lifetime, which leaves zombie games as the next thing I need to get super obsessed with. Thankfully, NetEase just released LifeAfter (Free) which is set in a post-apocalyptic universe where a virus has caused almost everyone to turn to zombies- In this world, the only way to survive is through mastering a surprisingly in-depth crafting system where you’ll be harvesting, collecting, and combining all sorts of materials to create all the tools (and structures) you’ll need to survive. While you’re doing all your hunting and gathering to survive, you’ll be completing all sorts of other missions to try to make some sense of the zombie hellsc

‘Pigeon Wings STRIKE’ is a New Endless ‘Pigeon Wings’ that’s Looking for Beta Testers

Gambar
What started out as a small two month project between two indie developers back in the summer of 2015 actually ballooned into a two YEAR project called Pigeon Wings ($2.99) , which launched back in August of 2017. Pigeon Wings is a side-scrolling racing game that plays like a cave flyer mixed with a shoot ’em up, and it’s extremely awesome. We loved it in our review , chose it for our Game of the Week when it released, included it in our Top 100 Games of 2017 list , and I picked it as one of my personal favorites of 2017 . So yeah, it’s pretty good. Unlike most cave flyers Pigeon Wings is a level-based game, but a few months after its release an update added a cool endless mode to the game , which fans had been requesting. The only problem was that, according to the developer’s own analytics, hardly anyone played that endless mode. Enter: Pigeon Wings STRIKE , a brand new fully-featured endless follow-up to Pigeon Wings . Pigeon Wings STRIKE will include many of the features th

‘Cultist Simulator’ from Playdigious Is Coming to iOS and Android This Spring and Pre-Registrations Are Now Live

Gambar
Over the last year or so, I’ve been keeping an eye on what Humble Bundle has been publishing on Switch and PC. They’ve released some great stuff like Aegis Defenders on multiple platforms but also some PC exclusive stuff like Cultist Simulator from Weather Factory. After a bit of teasing, Playdigious announced a mobile port of Cultist Simulator . Watch the trailer for it below: Cultist Simulator has always felt like something that Humble would get ported to Switch because they’ve put a ton of stuff on Switch recently before other platforms. The way most indie games are these days, we usually have to wait for a PC release to end up on Switch then PS4 then mobile. Thankfully, Cultist Simulator is bringing occult strategy to iOS and Android before hitting any other platform after the original PC release. The mobile port will support English and Simplified Chinese. What got me interested in the game when I saw the initial gameplay was the roguelike and card based nature. I also en

Gamevice Discounts iPhone Controller to Celebrate ‘Fortnite’ Season 8 for a Limited Time On Amazon

Gambar
Fortnite (Free) Patch 7.30 added controller support and a whole lot more to iOS and Android. A blog post on Gamevice has various details about matchmaking and how certain aspects on iOS will be handled. Epic Games likes to keep the playing field fair for matchmaking so controller players on mobile get matched with console players. Today, Season 8 arrived and Gamevice has a limited time discount on its iPhone controller. The Gamevice iPhone controller that costs $79.99 usually is available on Amazon and Gamevice for just $49.99 for a limited time. Fortnite was already great on iOS with 60fps on many recent devices but having proper controller support as well makes it the best portable version since you don’t have to worry about tethering to another device when on the go like you do on the Switch. When it comes to controllers on iOS, the Nimbus or Gamevice are basically your only real options. If you do consider buying the Gamevice on Amazon to get the discount, buying through o

SwitchArcade Round-Up: ‘Pokemon Sword’ and ‘Pokemon Shield’ Revealed, ‘RemiLore’ Review, ‘Ape Out’, ‘Deltarune’, and Today’s Other New Releases, the Latest Sales, and More

Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for February 28th, 2019. Another month has passed us by, full of exciting news and new releases for the Switch. March is looking to be another big month, at least in terms of eShop releases, and it’s only going to pick up from there. Today, we’ve got a look at the new Pokemon games, the big list of today’s releases, some sales information, and a review of RemiLore . News ‘Pokemon Sword’ and ‘Pokemon Shield’ Were the Stars of the Pokemon Direct Yesterday’s Pokemon Direct ended up being about exactly what everyone suspected it would be about: the latest entries in the mainline Pokemon series. Dubbed Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield , they take place in a fictionalized version of the United Kingdom. The three starter Pokemon were revealed, and we also got to see some footage from the games. The games will launch worldwide simultaneously later this year, and are currently available for pre-order on most popular online s

‘Golf Blitz’, the Manic Multiplayer Entry in the ‘Super Stickman Golf’ Series, Has Soft Launched on iOS and Android

If there’s one thing that Noodlecake Studios are better at than producing some of the most compelling arcade experiences on the App Store, it’s creating excellent (and downright hilarious) marketing campaigns. It’s been a while since I physically laughed out loud at a promotional campaign for a video game, but the ridiculously over-the-top battle sequence in their Golf Blitz trailer, as well as their latest take on that orange square from the Fyre Festival campaign, managed to do just that. I guess Noodlecake really do have that sort of influencer appeal within the mobile gaming community. Anyway, the Super Stickman Golf series is one of my all-time favorites, so I’m delighted to announce that Golf Blitz , a real-time multiplayer version of the classic series, has today soft launched onto the iOS and Android in a number of regions. Sadly, despite the teaser trailer featuring some epic fighting scenes, this isn’t Noodlecake’s attempt to bring the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to the

Blizzard Announces the ‘Hearthstone’ Year of the Dragon, Pre-Release Events, Solo updates, and More

Gambar
When Blizzard introduced the concept of “Years" to Hearthstone (Free) , things changed quite a bit. I’ve been playing it right from the start on iPad and the rotation cycle system has been the best thing they have done to keep things fresh for me. As with past years, Blizzard announce a new year in February and 2019 will be the Year of the Dragon for Hearthstone . Watch the chat for Year of the Dragon below: The Year of the Raven ends and the Year of the Dragon will begin. This time, there will be a single story told over three expansions. The first expansions begins the Year of the Dragon. As always, the expansion will have new cards changing up the meta. Solo adventures get an enhancement this year beginning with the expansion that arrives in April with the solo adventure aiming to be bigger than before when it arrives in May. The expansion can be purchased per chapter for 700 gold or for $19.99 for the whole thing. Each extra chapter will include two new playable character

‘Skylanders Ring of Heroes’ from Com2uS Is Finally Available Globally On iOS and Android

Gambar
Skylanders Ring of Heroes from Com2uS was announced a while ago. In fact we even covered it when not much was known barring the turn based RPG nature. Com2uS began pre-registrations for this back in October last year and we finally have the game live on the App Store and Google Play worldwide. Skylanders Ring of Heroes lets you join Stealth Elf, Spyro, and more Skylanders (80+) and mix and match to create the ultimate strategic team. Skylanders Ring of Heroes soft launched recently and the global release is finally here for free. I’m curious to see how this does because the Skylanders brand itself still has a following even though recent console toys to life entries haven’t done too great. The toys to life genre is basically dead with Nintendo being the exception with amiibo still doing super well. If you’re interested in checking Skylanders Ring of Heroes out, download it here on the App Store and here on Google Play. Check out the official website here .

Each and every day new mobile games are hitting the App Store, and so each week we put together a big old list of all the best new releases of the past seven days. Back in the day the App Store would showcase the same games for a week, and then refresh those features each Thursday. Because of that developers got into the habit of releasing their games throughout Wednesday or very early Thursday in order to hopefully get one of those coveted features spots. Nowadays the App Store refreshes constantly, so the need for everyone to release all on the same day has diminished. Still, we’ve kept our weekly Wednesday night format as for years that’s the time people knew to check TouchArcade for the list of new games. And so without further ado please check out the full list of this week’s new games below, and let us know in the comments section which games you’ll be picking up!   Battle Bowls iTunes Description Like Lawn Bowls?
