Each and every day new mobile games are hitting the App Store, and so each week we put together a big old list of all the best new releases of the past seven days. Back in the day the App Store would showcase the same games for a week, and then refresh those features each Thursday. Because of that developers got into the habit of releasing their games throughout Wednesday or very early Thursday in order to hopefully get one of those coveted features spots. Nowadays the App Store refreshes constantly, so the need for everyone to release all on the same day has diminished. Kimono Cats () from HumaNature Studio hit Apple Arcade earlier this year . If you’ve not played it yet, Kimono Cats has you walking through a Matsuri Festival with your companion trying to keep them happy across various mini-games while earning coins to progress. These coins let you purchase items, build houses, and more. Today, developer HumaNature announced that Kimono Cats will be getting a big 1.1 update next week bringing in loads of new quests and content for players. Highlights of the update include 20 new quests and challenges, the new photo mode feature, new mini-games, and more. Kimono Cats version 1.1 has a new Bubble Catalogue as well. For the new mini-games, there is one where cats must commandeer an out-of-control ramen cart while avoiding obstacles and collecting rewards. Last week, Hamster and SNK released Real Bout Fatal Fury 2 as the newest ACA NeoGeo series release. Today, the 1991-released action game Crossed Swords has released on mobile bringing the SNK game to iOS and Android worldwide as a premium release. Crossed Swords has you trying to defeat the demon Nausizz using weapons, magic, and defensive abilities. There are seven stages. This game supports up to two players according to the store page description with a 3D perspective. It also has an RPG system for growing stronger. Crossed Swords , out now, includes the usual features in Hamster’s ACA NeoGeo releases on mobile, and the publisher continues to improve controller support across the releases through updates. But I did manage to put one together for the 16-bit console version of Puzzle Bobble that came out at the same time as the new game, so that’s what we’re starting with. Upcoming wrestling adventure RPG WrestleQuest from Mega Cat Studios was delayed from its original release date thanks to securing a new partnership . That was clearly Netflix, because the game has been dated for August to hit PC and console platforms, and it is also coming to Netflix Games for mobile as revealed in the new WrestleQuest Legends trailer. I’m a big fan of older wrestling games, and while most of the 2K releases haven’t been as much fun, the newest one, WWE 2K23 , has been great. Back to WrestleQuest , the pixel art looks very good, and I’m hoping it ends up being good to play with touch controls on mobile. Originally scheduled for last week, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company delayed the major update for Pokemon Home (Free) on iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch to this week. The update has now gone live as Pokemon Home 3.0.0 bringing in compatibility with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet finally. If you’ve not gotten that on Switch yet, read Shaun’s review here . Pokemon Home 3.0.0 also lets you view the stats of a Pokemon from different games it has been in alongside adding in new challenges and stickers. If you play Pokemon GO , you can bring Gimmighoul (roaming form) into Pokemon Scarlet and Violet through Pokemon Home with this update.
