Become the Top Dog in the Online Multiplayer Strategy Game ‘Bark Park’ that’s Launching Next Week

Gambar
Anybody who has taken a dog to a dog park knows that it’s like its own alternate universe from the rest of the world. And I’m not talking about the dog owners, although that is an entire sitcom waiting to happen, but the dogs themselves adhere to a strange social structure that only they understand. Everyone wants to pee on all the things, claiming territory as their own only to have it reclaimed by some other dog mere moments later. It’s like a land battle, and probably could make for a really good video game premise. Hey! That’s exactly what Ancient Games are doing with their upcoming title Bark Park . You play as one of several dogs in a dog park with the goal being to drink water from the fountain in order to pee on the trees in the park, hopefully having more trees claimed as your own when the round is over. It’s a cute dog-themed twists on a “territories" style multiplayer mode, as you can see in the following trailer. Of course, since you’re a dog, you have multiple “wea

‘Four Last Things’ Spiritual Successor ‘The Procession to Calvary’ Hits Desktop April 9th with Mobile Versions in the Works

Gambar
Back in 2016 developer Joe Richardson submitted a game to Game Jolt’s Adventure Jam called Four Last Things , which took famous Renaissance Era paintings and public domain classical music and repurposed them into a humorous, Monty Python-esque point-and-click adventure game. The game jam submission was fleshed out into a full-fledged release thanks to fan support via a successful Kickstarter campaign, and it was released on Steam in early 2017. About a year later Four Last Things was released for mobile and we enjoyed that version quite a bit in our review from back then. Now after another successful Kickstarter about a year and a half ago, a spiritual successor was put into motion called The Procession to Calvary . If you enjoyed everything about Four Last Things and were craving more of it, that appears to be exactly what this will deliver. Check out the trailer. The Procession to Calvary is described as a spiritual successor instead of a sequel because, while it does take pla

‘Pascal’s Wager’ Gets New Game+ Mode and More in Latest Update

Gambar
A little over a month ago developer Tipsworks laid out their 2020 update plans for their excellent Dark Souls -inspired action game Pascal’s Wager ($6.99) . The most immediate update arrived just a couple of days after that announcement and added a new Casual Mode for those who felt that the game’s default difficulty was a bit too extreme and for those who don’t normally play this type of game as a way to ease them into it. The next stop on their update roadmap was for sometime in March, when they’d be adding in a New Game+ mode for those who had already beaten the game and wanted to continue their adventure. Well, that “sometime in March" turned out to be today, and the new update made it just in time before the calendar changes over to April. New Game+ is pretty self-explanatory and will let you play the “New Journey" after you load up your completed save file and talk to the Owl in the carriage. This update is also marking the end of the Heroic Herald Outfit Event wh

Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for March 30th, 2020. In today’s article, we’ve got a full review of Animal Crossing: New Horizons along with Mini-Views of a few other titles including Panzer Dragoon Remake . We look at today’s sole new release, then go into a rather robust list of new sales. The news was a bit light over the weekend, but there’s still plenty to read. Let’s get into it! Reviews Animal Crossing: New Horizons ($59.99) If ever there was a game for the current situation we find ourselves in, Animal Crossing: New Horizons is it. We all need to be somewhere better right now. A nice island filled with friendly animals and nothing but peaceful days sure sounds great. And hey, it is. A lot of the usual things that make Animal Crossing games so good are present and accounted for, a new crafting system has been added, and it all has never looked as good as it does in this game. I get the sense that Nintendo intends to keep on adding to the ga

Supreme Oreos – The TouchArcade Show #440

Gambar
We kick things off this week talking about what might be the most absurd Supreme item since the Supreme brick: The Supreme Oreo. I bought a bunch, because something is wrong with my brain. From there we have a bit of a COVID-19 update for both of us, then we dive head-first into the shallow end of the swimming pool talking about all the awesome iOS gaming news of the week. Once that’s over, we crash the bus straight into Tom Nook’s tent with a bit of chat about how we’ve been progressing in Animal Crossing. It’s wilder than Mr. Toad’s ride. Don’t forget to shoot us emails with any questions, feedback, or anything else relevant or irrelevant to podcast@toucharcade.com . We read ’em all, and love decoding messages written entirely in emoji. As always, you can listen to us with the links below… And if you like what you hear, please subscribe and/or drop us a review in iTunes. Much appreciated! As a companion to this audio podcast, we also do a video version of the same show that is exc

TouchArcade Game of the Week: ‘Reventure’

Gambar
The idea behind the TouchArcade Game of the Week is that every Friday afternoon we post the one game that came out this week that we think is worth giving a special nod to. Now, before anyone goes over-thinking this, it doesn’t necessarily mean our Game of the Week pick is the highest scoring game in a review, the game with the best graphics, or really any other quantifiable “best" thing. Instead, it’s more just us picking out the single game out of the week’s releases that we think is the most noteworthy, surprising, interesting, or really any other hard to describe quality that makes it worth having if you were just going to pick up one . These picks might be controversial, and that’s OK. If you disagree with what we’ve chosen, let’s try to use the comments of these articles to have conversations about what game is your game of the week and why . Without further ado…   Reventure Every once in a while a game comes along that is so low key brilliant you have a hard time com

Gambar
Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for March 27th, 2020. Well, yesterday sure was neat, wasn’t it? We now have a better picture of what titles we can look forward to in the next few months, and there were even a few surprise releases. Add in the stuff that was on the schedule and we’ve got a rather lengthy list of titles to summarize. We’ve also got some sales to check out. Let’s get to work! News Surprise! There Was a Nintendo Direct Yesterday After a lot of speculation and anticipation, Nintendo kind of dropped a mini Nintendo Direct out of nowhere yesterday. Too late for me to include it in yesterday’s article, but oh well. Lots of good stuff in it, like a release date for Xenoblade Chronicles (May 29th!), the release of a demo for Bravely Default II , the announcement of Bioshock, Borderlands , and XCOM 2 sets from 2K, and much more. If you haven’t already watched it, give it a bit of your time and see what we have to look forward to this summer.
