Best iPhone Game Updates: ‘Tiny Tower’, ‘Death Road to Canada’, ‘Goat Simulator+’, ‘Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp’, and More

Gambar
Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It’s time once again for our look back at the noteworthy updates of the last seven days. I had mistakenly assumed last week would be the last of the Halloween updates, forgetting that this week’s Monday is the very day itself. So naturally we have a bunch of Halloween updates to check out, plus a few other goodies. Of course, you can keep an eye out for updates yourself by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly summary is just here to fill you in on the things you might have missed. Let’s go for it! Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp , Free Animal Crossing Pocket Camp , hanging in like a champ for a lot longer than I’d ever expected. This update is not a particularly monumental one, making a few tweaks to the UI and doing those performance enhancements we all love so much. It also adds in some stuff for future events, like the Halloween one going on right now. You’re probably too late to make much headway in it, but if you swing i

Our 2021 iPad Game of the Year ‘Divinity: Original Sin 2’ Is Discounted for the First Time

Larian Studios’ Divinity: Original Sin 2 ($14.99) hit iPad through Elverils and it is a fantastic conversion. Read my glowing review of it here on iPad Pro 2020. Since launch, it has been updated to bring in Steam cross save support and more. Elverils even gauged interest in the possibility of bringing the first game to iPad . Divinity: Original Sin 2 has now gotten its first discount since launch bringing the price down to $14.99 from $24.99 for iPad. There is no mention on the App Store page for how long this discount is valid for, but now is a great time to grab one of the best iPad releases ever if you haven’t already gotten it. Watch the trailer for Divinity: Original Sin 2 on iPad below: When Divinity: Original Sin 2 hit iPad back in May last year, we featured it as our Game of the Week and it was also our 2021 Game of the Year for iPad . If you own a fairly recent iPad (check the App Store page for the supported devices), you can buy Divinity: Original Sin 2 on the

TouchArcade Game of the Week: ‘Monster Train’

Gambar
If I’m being honest, I haven’t personally been all that into the whole deckbuilding roguelike phenomenon of the last few years. The poster child here is Slay the Spire , but there have been countless similar games released on all platforms including mobile, and they all basically offer some form of strategic card-based battling with roguelike dungeon crawler elements baked in. On paper these are all elements that generally tick all my happy boxes, but for whatever reason, while I have enjoyed poking around in these games here and there, I’ve never really been “sucked in" to one like so many others seem to be. Well, I’m happy to report I’m officially onboard the deckbuilder roguelike train with this week’s mobile release of Shiny Shoe Games and Good Shepherd Entertainment’s Monster Train , and yes, that pun was very intended. Monster Train features all the hallmarks of this particular genre, including dozens of cool cards offering various types of units, special abilities, and ef

SwitchArcade Round-Up: ‘Bayonetta 3’, ‘Sophstar’, ‘Factorio’, and Today’s Other Releases and Sales

Gambar
Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for October 28th, 2022. In today’s article, we look at the remaining releases of the week, and what a lot it is. Bayonetta 3, Factorio, Sophstar, Ace Angler: Fishing Spirits , and more are vying for your gaming dollars, and that’s not even getting into the sales. Which we do! Right after the new releases. There are a lot of them. We have a list of some of the really good ones, plus some of the expiring ones. Let’s get to it! New Releases Bayonetta 3 ($59.99) SwitchArcade Highlight! It’s been a very, very long road, and the last couple of weeks have been a roller coaster, but Bayonetta 3 is finally here. What can be said? It’s more wild, over-the-top action from a developer that has honed its craft at making just that sort of thing. There’s a new major character in this one named Viola, and Bayonetta is going to have to deal with her and her troubles. Along the way, she’ll meet a whole coven of Bayonettas. The multiver

‘Wreckfest’ on Mobile Pushed Back to November 15th

Gambar
A couple of months back HandyGames announced that they’d be bringing Bugbear’s demolition derby-style racer Wreckfest to mobile devices, and just a few days later pre-registrations went live for the Android version on Google Play with iOS pre-orders arriving a few weeks later. All indications were that Wreckfest on mobile was all set for an October 25th launch, but as a quick glance at the calendar will tell you, today is October 28th and the mobile version is nowhere in sight. I’m not sure if the October 25th date listed on the iOS pre-order page was simply a placeholder date all along, or if something has come up last minute that has necessitated pushing the launch back a bit, but whatever the case Wreckfest on mobile is now listed as coming November 15th. While I am VERY extremely looking forward to getting my hands on this one, a few extra weeks isn’t the end of the world, so all I can do now is patiently wait for November 15th when Wreckfest should finally be gracing mob

The 10 Best Nintendo Switch JRPGs in 2022 – SwitchArcade Special

Gambar
We’ve been doing lists of our favorite Switch games in each genre for a while now, and a couple of things have occurred to me. First, we’re getting low on genres that aren’t wildly specific. Second, the lists we did at the start of all of this are now years-old and could certainly use some addendums to reflect the explosive growth of the Nintendo Switch library since then. Thus, a sequel to our very popular 10 Best JRPGs for Nintendo Switch special. This does not overwrite the previous list, but rather appends to it. In no particular order, here are ten more amazing JRPGs for Nintendo Switch. Xenoblade Chronicles 3 ($59.99) What better place to start with this list than the latest in Nintendo and Monolith’s incredible Xenoblade Chronicles series? Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is every bit as mechanically dense and massive as the second game, if not more so, but thematically and stylistically it feels like a return to the feel of the first game. It serves as a fine cap to the three numb

SwitchArcade Round-Up: ‘Dariusburst CS Core’, ‘Arkanoid Eternal Battle’, Plus More Releases, News, and Sales

Gambar
Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for October 27th, 2022. It’s Thursday, and perhaps most importantly it is the last Thursday in October. That means we’ve got almost thirty new games to look at, and I’m sure there will be some stragglers to catch up with tomorrow. We’ve got summaries of everything on the schedule at the moment, plus a bit of news and the usual lists of new and outgoing sales. Let’s head on in, as it’s an extra big-pants version today. News Hide ‘n Seek Game ‘Obakeidoro’ is the Latest Switch Online Trial This is an odd pull. From now until November 1st at 11:59 PM PT, Nintendo Switch Online subscribers can download and play the multiplayer hide ‘n seek game Obakeidoro for free. If you enjoy it and want to keep it, you can buy it for half-price until November 13th. This trial coincides with the arrival of some Castlevania DLC for the game, so it all kind of makes sense from a certain point of view. I didn’t love this game back when I r
