Each and every day new mobile games are hitting the App Store, and so each week we put together a big old list of all the best new releases of the past seven days. Back in the day the App Store would showcase the same games for a week, and then refresh those features each Thursday. Because of that developers got into the habit of releasing their games throughout Wednesday or very early Thursday in order to hopefully get one of those coveted features spots. Nowadays the App Store refreshes constantly, so the need for everyone to release all on the same day has diminished. Still, we’ve kept our weekly Wednesday night format as for years that’s the time people knew to check TouchArcade for the list of new games. And so without further ado please check out the full list of this week’s new games below, and let us know in the comments section which games you’ll be picking up!   Arcane Showdown (Free) iTunes Description Arcane Showdown takes you to an epic battle of magical might! ‘IncrediMarble’ is a Sandbox for Creating Massive Marble Contraption Monstrosities, Launching October 8th

Gambar
One of the more interesting developments to come out of the 2020 pandemic is the rise of marble racing. Yes, marble racing. In a world where basically all sports were put on hold, people racing a bunch of marbles against each other in elaborate tracks dug out of sand captured the attention of those craving some competitive entertainment, and it was also quite refreshing to see just how serious and professional the folks running these marble races took things. It is a legitimately exciting sport that I’m very happy to have discovered, but there’s also something almost hypnotic about watching a bunch of marbles fumble and flail down their sandy courses. It’s ASMR-like. Well if you enjoy staring at a dizzying amount of marbles traveling down complex pathways, the solo developer Dave Kap aka Art of the State has got a game for you. It’s called IncrediMarble and it’s pretty much exactly what you’d think it would be. Check out the trailer. While it seems like the main goal of IncrediMar

Gambar
Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for September 30th, 2020. In today’s article, we’ve got a bunch of news items to look at. Lots of updates, mostly. There are a couple of new releases to look at, though nothing wildly exciting. I mean, it’s Wednesday. We finish things up by looking at the incoming and outgoing sales, as we tend to around these parts. Let’s go for it! News ‘Pokemon Sword & Shield’ Expansion ‘The Crown Tundra’ Coming Oct 22nd Well, it looks like my initial assumption yesterday was a safe one. The release date was revealed for the second part of the Pokemon Sword & Shield Expansion Pass, The Crown Tundra . The expansion will arrive on October 22nd, bringing a new story, Legendary Pokemon from past games, and the Galarian Star Tournament with it among many other improvements and additions. If you don’t own Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield yet, a special bundle containing the game and the Expansion Pass will be available from Nove

The 10 Best Metroidvanias for Nintendo Switch – SwitchArcade Special Edition

Gambar
The list train does not stop today, friends. Previous SwitchArcade Special Editions have brought you our favorite fighting games , our favorite 3D platformers , and our favorite JRPGs on the Switch. This time around we’re looking at a genre that has absolutely exploded in popularity over the last five or so years: the Metroidvania. Yes, that genre label is contentious but it’s helpful in as much as you probably know what I mean when I use it. Just in case, a little clarification: a Metroidvania is a non-linear platformer where your character earns new abilities, skills, or items over the course of the game that help them progress past previously insurmountable obstacles. Like a Zelda game, but from the side-view. In no particular order, here are our picks for the best of the bunch. Hollow Knight ($14.99) There are some games which had I failed to include on this list would surely have had people howling. Hollow Knight is probably the biggest of that bunch. Many people consider th

‘Stadium’ is a Free Web Browser App that Allows You to Play Google Stadia on iOS

The streaming wars are in full swing. No, I don’t mean the various companies offering streaming services duking it out against one another, though there is an element of that going on. What I’m talking about is the game streaming service providers going to war with Apple on ways to get their services on iOS devices in an official capacity. Microsoft was denied having its xCloud streaming service available in its Game Pass app on the App Store when they officially launched their service a couple of weeks ago, unless of course they decided to jump through a bunch of ridiculous and unrealistic hoops first . However, Xbox head Phil Spencer has recently stated that he believes Microsoft and Apple will eventually come to a resolution that allows iOS users access to the xCloud service. Until then I’m rocking my trusty Android tablet xCloud setup and have been pretty happy with it so far. Then there’s Amazon, who just last week announced their intention to enter the cloud gaming market wi

Huge Retro-Style Open World Action RPG ‘9th Dawn 3’ Launching October 6th on iOS, Android, PC, and Consoles

Gambar
A little over 7 years ago, developer Valorware brought their curious mobile RPG 9th Dawn to the iOS platform. The game had debuted on Android the previous year, and by the time the iOS version came about it brought with it all the improvements and new content that came from that early Android launch. 9th Dawn was kind of a bizarre game. It drew its inspiration from old-school CRPGs from the ’80s and early ’90s like Ultima , and like many games of that vintage, was unapologetically obtuse to new players. There was an absolutely massive open world to explore in 9th Dawn , and enough underlying systems to keep you busy for literal years, but the game did nothing to hold your hand when it came to where to go in this giant world or how to access those systems. Paradoxically, 9th Dawn was also incredibly approachable due to its dual-stick combat and movement system that felt right at home on the touchscreen as well as its nearly non-existent penalties for dying. This meant that even thou

‘Unmemory’ is Described as “Memento Meets Device 6” and It’s Launching October 13th on iOS, Android, and Steam

In just a couple of weeks a new type of interactive fiction will be launching on PC and mobile, and it’s a mixture of some of the best interactive fiction, escape room, and alternate reality games around. If you enjoyed experiences like Device 6 , Blackbar , Her Story , and any number of adventure or escape room games, then chances are pretty good you’ll enjoy Unmemory from Spanish developer Patrones y Escondites and publisher Plug In Digital. You’ll play as a man who is trying to solve the mystery of who murdered his girlfriend, but unfortunately you’re suffering from severe memory loss, so you’ll need to search through all manner of media in order to find clues and put the pieces together about both who the killer could be and who you yourself are. In this way Unmemory has been compared to Christopher Nolan’s fantastic and mind-twisting 2000 film Memento. Here is a brand new trailer showcasing the overall crazy vibe of Unmemory . We’ve seen a lot of neat interactive storytelling

In today’s article we’ve got a few little bits of news to dig into before moving on to the new releases that hit the eShop today. It’s also one of those days where there’s a video presentation scheduled for after I leave the office but before you read this. We’ll catch up on that Pokemon news tomorrow, I promise. There are also some really good sales to look at, and you know we’ll be doing just that. Let’s get started! News ‘Muse Dash’ Mashes Up with ‘Groove Coaster’ in Upcoming DLC Muse Dash is a pretty sweet rhythm game with lots of great music. But you know what makes any game soundtrack better? ZUNTATA. Taito’s in-house band has been making amazing tunes since the 1990s, with one of the more impressive displays of its melodic prowess found in Taito’s awesome Groove Coaster games. Well, Muse Dash and

‘Pokemon GO’ Integration with ‘Pokemon Home’ Is Coming Later This Year with Limited-Time Events and More Planned

Gambar
Back when Pokemon Home (Free) was annonced and eventually released, connectivity with Pokemon GO (Free) was not available and was going to come in the future. Today, The Pokemon Company had a broadcast giving players details on the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pass and more. The presentation also finally had some information about the integration between Pokemon Home and Pokemon GO . This will let players bring over Pokemon GO Pokemon to the Nintendo Switch Pokemon Sword and Shield and Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion pass areas. Watch the presentation below: When the integration goes live, there will be limited-time events that let players get a chance to encounter a Shiny Meltan if you pen the Mystery Box during the celebration event. Hopefully we get a release date soon for this integration because Pokemon Sword and Shield is getting a new physical release with DLC included on cartridge in a new bundle.
