‘Hyper Light Drifter’ and All of Abylight’s Other Premium iOS Games Currently Just 99¢ for Cyber Monday

Gambar
Last week we highlighted some pretty excellent Black Friday iOS game deals , many of which are still ongoing, but today is all about the cyber. Cyber Monday, to be exact. Yes, another totally made-up reason to have a bunch of sales! I’m not going to argue. While I’m sure there’s plenty of other things on sale today, what I really wanted to draw attention to is Abylight’s current Cyber Monday blowout. Headlining this would be the absolutely phenomenal Zelda -inspired action RPG Hyper Light Drifter ($0.99) , which you can nab for a whopping 99¢. We gave Hyper Light Drifter 5 stars in our review and picked it as our Game of the Week when it released last year. It’s darn-near criminal selling a game of this caliber at this low of a price. But wait, there’s more! All of Abylight’s iOS games are down to 99¢, and they basically only publish good stuff. This includes a trio of games from indie developer duo Locomalito and Gryzor87. First up is Super Hydorah ($0.99) , a horizontal shoot

SwitchArcade Round-Up: ‘Robotics;Notes’ Review, Mini-Views Featuring ‘Tropico 6’, Plus the Latest Releases and Sales

Gambar
Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for November 30th, 2020. It’s the last day of what is usually the busiest month of the year, but the Switch still has plenty of fire left for December. We’ll see that as the week goes on, but for today we’re mostly looking back. There’s a little news, a full review of Robotics;Notes by good ol’ Mikhail, a handful of Mini-Views by yours truly, summaries of the new releases that popped up over the weekend, and the usual lists of incoming and outgoing sales. It’s a big read, so let’s get started! News ‘SaGa Frontier Remastered’ Coming to Switch in Summer 2021 Can’t say I saw this one coming. For many Western gamers, SaGa Frontier was their first experience with a game carrying the SaGa title. It was one of the first post- Final Fantasy 7 RPGs from Square in the West, and a whole lot of people bought it expecting something that was… well, not a SaGa game, which SaGa Frontier very much is. On top of the usual quirkine

Best iPhone Game Updates: ‘Metorfall’, ‘Sneaky Sasquatch’, ‘World of Tanks Blitz’, ‘Real Racing 3’, and More

Gambar
Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It’s time once again for our look back at the noteworthy updates of the last seven days. A curious mix of games today, friends. I felt like checking in on some games we don’t usually look at to see what was going on with them, and I found plenty. Of course, you can keep an eye out for updates yourself using AppShopper or by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly summary is just here to fill you in on the things you might have missed. Let’s go for it! Sneaky Sasquatch , This game has gone to the dogs… literally ! Ha ha, there were so many movies and TV shows that used that exact joke in their marketing when I was young. We really got a kick out of dogs doing stuff they weren’t supposed to. But in Sneaky Sasquatch ‘s new update, it’s more about a Sasquatch doing what it isn’t supposed to. The Sasquatch can now adopt a dog! There’s a pet shop, some dog furniture, tennis balls you can use to play fetch, and even dog bags for pick

Gambar
The long-running Wizardry seres has had loads of games across a plethora of systems over the decades and it even had a notable entry hit iOS back in 2011 in the form of Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls . Read our review of it here and Shaun’s RPG Reload on it here . Today, Drecom who recently acquired the copyright and trademark rights to Wizardry , announced a brand new 3D dungeon RPG in the form of Wizardry VA that is in development for iOS and Android. Wizardry VA is planned for a worldwide release as well. Drecom is hiring for staff and development partners to work on Wizardry VA right now. Wizardry VA has an early gameplay video available showcasing some of the visuals and the interface. Watch it below: A release window or price point for Wizardry VA haven’t been announced as of this writing. While I like the visuals on display in the video above, the interface needs a lot of work. It also looks like Wizardry VA will be a portrait game. Right now, Wizardry: Labyrinth

‘SaGa Frontier Remastered’ Is a Remaster of the PlayStation Classic Coming to iOS, Android, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC in 2021

Over the weekend, Square Enix announced a remaster of the original PlayStation classic in the form of SaGa Frontier Remastered for iOS, Android, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. SaGa Frontier Remastered is a remaster of SaGa Frontier that released back in 1997 in Japan and 1998 in North America on PlayStation. This was the first game released using the SaGa name in North America as well. Over the years, Square Enix has brought multiple SaGa games to iOS and Android in the form of SaGa Scarlet Grace: Ambitions ($29.99) , Romancing SaGa 3 ($7.99) , and Romancing SaGa 2 ($17.99) . Square Enix clearly is confident in the games for the West because we even got the free to play Romancing SaGa Re;Universe localised recently. I got into the SaGa games through these new releases so I’m excited to check out SaGa Frontier Remastered with its turn-based combat and great music. Watch the announcement trailer for SaGa Frontier Remastered below: SaGa Frontier Remastered also includes Fu

TouchArcade Game of the Week: ‘Embracelet’

Gambar
Developer Machineboy, aka solo developer Mattis Folkestad, captured our hearts with the quirky retro-style adventure game Milkmaid of the Milky Way ($3.99) back in 2017, fetching our Game of the Week nod and a 4 star review at the time. Milkmaid was a pretty traditional point-and-click style game, but in all honesty the puzzles themselves didn’t put up much of a fight as this was a title that was more about experiencing the story, characters, and the silly humor than taxing your brain. That’s kind of what we liked about it so much. Now Machineboy has brought their new project Embracelet () , which launched on PC and Nintendo Switch in October, over to the iOS platform and it presents a lot of what we enjoyed in Milkmaid of the Milky Way but in an entirely new and gorgeous package. Embracelet is very much a coming of age adventure. You play as Norwegian teenager Jesper whose grandfather gives him a mysterious bracelet that gives Jesper the power to move objects like Luke Skywal

SwitchArcade Round-Up: ‘Girabox’, ‘More Dark’, and Today’s Other New Releases and Sales

Gambar
Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for November 27th, 2020. Today is Black Friday! There are a lot more sales to check out today, but I’ll be honest: not many of them are as juicy as the ones we saw earlier this week. Such is life, I suppose. There are also a bunch of new releases to look at, with the majority of them being on the cheaper side of things. Hey, it’s nice to see someone thinking about our precarious game budgets for once! Let’s look at what we’ve got today. New Releases Girabox ($2.49) SwitchArcade Highlight! Yes, I like this. It’s a straightforward puzzle game where you need to reach the goal in each area by rotating the stage and letting gravity do the work. Each rotation is counted, and the idea is to get where you need to go using the fewest amount of spins. There are quite a few stages to get through, and the overall experience is nice and chill without being too simple. Toss in a great price and you’ve got an easy pick-up for puzzle

Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the Thanksgiving edition of the SwitchArcade Round-Up. Well, American Thanksgiving, at any rate. All I know is that my American friends are off work today. I would join them, but you know what? Lots of games came out today, and I need to tell you all about them. And perhaps you might need something to read while you hide from your family, I don’t know. There are a lot of new releases today, and that’s what we’re focusing on. Beyond that, we also have the lists of incoming and outgoing sales in case you haven’t had enough of those lately. Let’s chow down! New Releases The Alto Collection ($9.99) SwitchArcade Highlight! Snowman’s amazing Alto series comes to the Switch in this double-pack featuring both Alto’s Adventure and Alto’s Odyssey . That’s more than 120 levels of gorgeous skiing through snow-covered slopes, sandy dunes, and other locales. Everything from both games is included here, giving you plenty of content to enjoy for a reasonabl
