‘Horizon Chase – World Tour’ Updated with Refreshed UI and Promises “A Constant Stream of Updates” in 2020

Gambar
More than 5 years ago in March of 2015, Aquiris Game Studio announced a new retro-inspired racing game tentatively titled Project Retro-Racer . In August of that same year they launched that game with the final title of Horizon Chase . The developers used inspiration from several classic arcade racers, but more often than not Horizon Chase was described as a modern Out Run , and I’m pretty okay with that description. They somehow managed to create a racing game that simultaneously felt like an authentic old-school arcade game and a modern console or PC racer, and Horizon Chase instantly became my favorite arcade racing game on mobile. We awarded it 5 stars in our original review , chose it as Game of the Week , and put it in our Best Games of 2015 list . About a year after its release, Horizon Chase was updated with new cars and tracks as part of an Australia Cup expansion , and about a year and a half after that it was updated with even more new cars and tracks as part of the Haw

Playdigious to Publish Surreal Animated Puzzle Adventure ‘Arrog’ on July 22nd, Discounted Pre-Order Available Now

Some of my favorite games are the ones where I watch the trailer and I mutter to myself “What the HELL did I just watch!?" Such is the case with an upcoming puzzle adventure called Arrog from developers Leap Games Studio and Hermanos Magia, which Playdigious will be publishing on iOS and Android July 22nd. I don’t even really know where to begin to explain what this game might be about, so here’s the official description followed by the trailer. “Help a man travel through his dreams, as he must learn to accept his own death. Make sense of a bizarre world made out of traditional animations and portrayed in a unique black-and-white art style in this intense narrative experience without words." Arrog has this really unique black and white look, with some sparse colorized elements, and is entirely hand-animated which you can really tell by the trailer. It just has a really fantastic look, and a really eerie soundtrack, and anything that deals with death always has sort of a

Popular Card Game ‘Dixit’ is Heading to Mobile, Sign-Ups Open for Closed Beta Next Month

Gambar
Released way back in 2008, Dixit is a card-based party game created by Jean-Louis Roubira that uses a deck of cards that feature storybook-like illustrations. All players are dealt 6 cards face down, and each player takes a turn at being the “storyteller" for each round. The storyteller looks at their cards and chooses one, then says a sentence or phrase that can be related to that card’s illustration without completely giving away what the illustration actually is. The other players then choose a card from their hand which they think best reflects the phrase the storyteller comes up with, all choices including the storyteller’s are shuffled up and then placed face up. All players besides the storyteller then use anonymous numbered tokens to guess which face up card they think was the storyteller’s. The choices are then revealed, and points are awarded based on the selections. It’s actually a very simple game that I’m making sound more complicated than it is, so check out this ex

Choice of Games and Paradox Teaming Up to Create ‘Vampire: The Masquerade’ Gamebooks

Gambar
Mobile gamers who enjoy a good interactive story almost certainly know the name Choice of Games (Free) . The company’s ChoiceScript engine has powered a huge variety of choice-based adventures across a wide range of genres and themes. By working with a bunch of extremely talented authors, Choice of Games has kept a constant, fresh stream of cool games coming for pretty much as long as I can remember having an iPhone. The company has just made an announcement that represents the turning of a new page in its history, and we’ve got the first word on it. Choice of Games and Paradox Interactive, the owners of the World of Darkness brand, are teaming up to create three gamebooks based on the Vampire: The Masquerade IP. The first title, arriving sometime this summer, is Vampire: The Masquerade – Night Road by Kyle Marquis. You may remember his name from the excellent Empyrean , one of my favorite mobile games of 2016. Night Road sees you playing as an elite vampire courier who has been

Each and every day new mobile games are hitting the App Store, and so each week we put together a big old list of all the best new releases of the past seven days. Back in the day the App Store would showcase the same games for a week, and then refresh those features each Thursday. Because of that developers got into the habit of releasing their games throughout Wednesday or very early Thursday in order to hopefully get one of those coveted features spots. Nowadays the App Store refreshes constantly, so the need for everyone to release all on the same day has diminished. Still, we’ve kept our weekly Wednesday night format as for years that’s the time people knew to check TouchArcade for the list of new games. And so without further ado please check out the full list of this week’s new games below, and let us know in the comments section which games you’ll be picking up!   Balance Weight Puzzle (Free) iTunes Description Arrange your cats and other items to 2 sides of the scale to
